It's more than just a score... It's a way of life in Columbus, Ohio whenever the USA hosts Mexico at Crew Stadium, the home of the Columbus Crew.
In 5 matchups against Mexico at Crew Stadium since 2001 (4 world cup qualifiers and 1 world cup match), the USA has beaten Mexico 2-0 each time.
Tonight, Dos a Cero was put in jeopardy when the match was already 2-0 thanks to 2 brilliant scores by Eddie Johnson and Landon Donovan and the USA was awarded a penalty in the 90th minute. Clint Dempsey stepped up and straight-up missed, in what seemed like an intently missed PK shot....possibly just to put the exclamation point on the ultimate score to let Mexico know that Columbus is our house and we'll do whatever the fuck we want to do to you on our terms pissedoffeagle.jpeg

Dos a Cero lives on.
by the way, with Honduras' tie with Panama tonight, the USA is officially and fully qualified for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil

I found it highly amusing when Mexico tried any sort of aerial attack. I think the US had a 3-4" height advantage at every position on the pitch!

Beautiful second half after a somewhat scary and stuttering start. So awesome to put another 2-0 victory over Mexico behind us when it counts.
